Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq admits it is "disappointing" that former team-mate Danish Kaneria has been implicated in a spot-fixing case, but says his players won't be distracted by it.
Mervyn Westfield was on Friday jailed for four months for receiving a corrupt payment to bowl poorly while Kaneria was named as the person who "targeted" the former Essex seamer.
The court heard that Westfield was approached by former Pakistan leg-spinner Kaneria, who was arrested in 2010 but was later released without charge.
When asked for his views on Kaneria's link with the case, Misbah said: "It is disappointing. It's our wish that it [corruption] finishes, because all the players have been trying to put that behind [us]."
It is the second time in less than two months that Misbah has had to field questions about the issue as the build-up to the England series was dominated by talk about the jail sentences handed to Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt for spot-fixing.
He added: "We want to keep away from such things.
"It's not an issue for us. We have to concentrate on the game, and don't let us bother about that.
"It should stop now."
