Fast bowler Steven Finn has implored England fans to show faith in their struggling batsmen.

England were whitewashed three-nil in the Test series in the United Arab Emirates, where Pakistan spin trio Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman shared 48 of the 60 wickets to fall.

Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell and Eoin Morgan proved particularly unimpressive against the slow bowlers. Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott and Alastair Cook were not much better. Bell's severe lack of form has cost him a place in the squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against the same opposition.

"There's no doubt we have the best people available in the country playing in the team, we just didn't adapt as quick as we'd have hoped," admitted Finn, who did not play in any of the three Tests.

"But in terms of having to change personnel, I don't think we need that kind of knee-jerk reactions at the moment."

With four ODIs and three T20Is to deploy some corrective measures before they head to Sri Lanka for another Test series, England have hauled in new recruit Jos Buttler to bolster their batting ranks and left-arm spinner Danny Briggs to boost their bowling department.

"This is a really good chance for us to go out and play with free abandon I suppose, go out and just enjoy ourselves," added Finn.

"Alastair Cook is going to be leading the team and we're all looking forward to getting going in this one-day series. Hopefully this can give us momentum moving towards the Test series in Sri Lanka after that.".

The first ODI gets underway in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
