Australia have added Ben Hilfenhaus to their squad for the Commonwealth Bank Series clash against Sri Lanka following Brett Lee's withdrawal.

The 28-year-old, who last played in an ODI in 2009, will act as cover in the fast bowling department in Friday's clash in Perth after Lee was forced to pull out of the squad with an injury.

Lee was hit on the foot during the Twenty20 clash against India in Melbourne and will be out of action for up to six weeks after scans revealed he fractured his small toe on his right foot.

Hilfenhaus, though, is rewarded for his excellent form during the recent Test series against India. He topped the wickettaking charts with 17 scalps at an average of 17.22.

National Selector John Inverarity said: "The NSP has named Ben Hilfenhaus in the squad for the game against Sri Lanka in Perth on Friday. Ben will replace the injured Brett Lee.

"The bowling attack for Perth is likely to be the same as the one that did so well in Melbourne and Ben will be in Perth to provide cover."

The selectors also confirmed that all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will join up with the squad for the ODI against India once the Sheffield Shield game between Queensland and Western Australia is completed.
